We believe that Jesus’s prayer in John 17:20-23 that we (“the church”) be one as He and the Father are one make it imperative for us who name Him as Savior to work together in our communities that we might be a light set on a hill. Therefore, we have signed and committed ourselves to those with a similar vision within the ONEOMC community.

Equipping the Saints

We believe that Jesus considered the equipping of the saints to be so important that He gave five special gifts to the Church to “equip the saints for the work of ministry” (Eph 4:11). We believe the function of those gifts are as follows:

Apostolic

is a gift of vision for the body of the Lord within a particular geographic area (sphere) to bring alignment to God’s purposes. 2 Cor 10:8-18

Prophetic

is a gift for the speaking out of encouragement and exhortation from the Lord to the body so the direction and pace of Kingdom growth is maintained in the church. 1 Cor 14:3

Teaching

is a gift for the explanation and comprehension of the scriptures for the fulfillment of their intended purpose by the body. Heb 5:11-14

Pastoral

is a gift for the nurturing, herding, admonishing and nudging the body to their maturity and calling by the Lord. 2 Tim 2-4

Evangelistic

is a gift for instructing the body in the proclamation and apologetics of the Gospel of the Kingdom. Rom 10:15

Church Leadership

We believe the oversight of the Church was to be entrusted to Holy Spirit appointed Elders (Acts 20:28). Men who not only are seasoned believers with spiritual gifts, but who fulfill a list of character qualities as described in 1st and 2nd Timothy. We believe the primary function of Elders (always more than one) is as follows:

Elders

are under-shepherd custodians of Christ’s strategy for His church in a particular geographic area. Primarily concerned with issues of division, immorality and clarity of doctrine, so the ﬁve-fold equipping gifts can work unhindered under spiritual authority to equip the saints for the work of ministry.

The work of God and His purposes cover the whole earth and Grace Bible has sought to co-labor with others where ever the Spirit has aligned our hearts with His purposes.
